This is an exciting opportunity to help innovate the way WBS approaches its online, live delivery of education. The postholder will, amongst other things, be responsible for managing the SmartStage facility. This is an immersive, augmented reality video environment which allows the presenters to see and interact with the content around them, such as graphics and even holograms. This stage will be used for the delivery of synchronous, online events. The postholder will work with academics to help them design their online sessions, from a technological as well as a pedagogical point of view. They will provide one-on-one and group training, research improvements and help integrate these into current practices. Furthermore, they will promote our new approach across the business school and the university. They will also run a small team of Live Streaming Production Coordinators, who will provide the day-to-day running of this stage. Besides SmartStage, the role will cover any other upcoming live-streaming and immersive technologies.
The role is critical to the blended and online learning aspects of the WBS 2030 strategy. It will be a great opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to make a real impact in online education.
This role could be a good fit for people with a background in media and video production, live production (theatre or education), broadcast and/or others.
To apply please complete the application form and provide a CV and covering letter which clearly sets out how you meet the essential and desirable criteria as highlighted in the person specification.
