Archived: Head of Visitor Experience

Permanent – Full Time

Grade 7 – £31,076 – £38,183 per annum

This role is a senior position with the Operations Team, and you will be leading well-established Visitor Service and Volunteer teams to deliver an exceptional level of customer service and provide an extremely high quality experience to all visitors who come to the museum.

You will provide strong, consistent management to a diverse team, ensuring the managers who report into this role are fully equipped to complete their day to day roles and inspire our front line staff and volunteers to share the stories of the museum with our visitors, with energy and enthusiasm. You will be responsible for a Deputy Visitor Experience Manager, 2 Visitor Experience Supervisors, and a Volunteer Manager. You will also be responsible for a team of 50 Visitor Services Assistants.

You will ensure that the team are providing the highest standards of customer service for our visitors ensuring health and safety policy and procedures are adhered to at all times. You will develop excellence and improvements in the visitor experience at all times and actively seek opportunities to try new things and improve on the systems and processes already in place.

You will be responsible for creating an atmosphere of support and continuous learning within the team, where people are keen to collaborate, and gain pleasure from shared achievements. Elsewhere in the museum you will work to ensure that the visitors and operational requirements are factored into projects and broader decisions, supporting the Head of Operations and Director in this work

There is an expectation that you will be required to work on evenings, weekends and public holidays and to cover the role of Duty Manager as part of your responsibilities on a rostered basis
