Contract: Fixed Term, Hourly Paid Lecturer
Salary: £52.22 to £61.28 per hour
Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is a forward thinking, contemporary and world-class Higher Education Institution with a vision to redefine the conservatoire for the 21st century. At the leading edge of music and dance training, it provides specialist education of the highest quality, which reflects the increasingly collaborative world of artistic practice and supports the lifelong career development of students and professional performing artists.
Trinity Laban is seeking a capable, experienced and dynamic lecturer to lead and deliver the Dance & the Moving Image component which is an elective for the second-year students on the BA (Hons) Contemporary Dance (BACD) programme. You should be actively engaged in the dance sector, with experience of lecturing at HE level. The elective will be delivered during Term 1 from September to December. Component leading hours vary throughout the academic year and therefore the candidate will have a flexible approach to working and be part of a wider team. There may be further opportunities of lecturing on dance and film in the Faculty of Music. Your application should identify your experience of teaching at HE level and your expertise in the subject area.
As Component Leader, you will have responsibility for ensuring this component continues to be attractive, innovative and relevant, reflecting the evolving and current needs of the field, as well as maintaining currency in the wider field of higher education. You will have responsibility for communicating with the teaching team, organisation and upkeep of the Component Moodle page, ensuring adequate second markers for assessment and collating grades to be sent to registry. The role also requires the delivery of assessment classes and report writing at various points in the academic year.
As an equal opportunity employer, we positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
