About the Saturday Club Trust
Established by the Sorrell Foundation in 2009, the National Saturday Club gives young people aged 13-16 the unique opportunity to study subjects they love every Saturday morning at a local college, university or museum, for free.
There are now over 60 Saturday Clubs in Art & Design, Science & Engineering, Fashion & Business and Writing & Talking, run by the Trust with a national network of tutors in cultural and educational institutions across the UK.
The Saturday Club provides up to 100 hours of expert tuition over 30 weeks of the academic year. It also organises visits to galleries and museums, Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and an exhibition of all Club members’ work in London’s Somerset House.
In 2016, the trustees of the Sorrell Foundation established the Saturday Club Trust to take over the development of the Saturday Club programme. The two charities share founder trustees, John and Frances Sorrell, and an ethos of inspiring young people to discover their creativity and a model of engagement that gives them the chance to explore subjects they love in a collaborative, experimental atmosphere that boosts confidence as well as skills.
