The National Gallery
Archived: Young Patrons Manager
JOB CONTEXT
The Young Patrons Manager is responsible for managing the National Gallery’s young patrons’ scheme, the Young Ambassadors. They will continue building on the programme’s success to develop a strong and sustainable membership, deliver an enticing events programme, and generate new income for the National Gallery.
They will maximise income from the group and secure additional donations, working closely with the co-chairs and steering committee to increase Young Ambassador membership and grow the wider donor base. They will also raise support towards ongoing projects, as well as for the NG200 fundraising campaign, through a focused portfolio of individual major donor prospects.
JOB PURPOSE
The Young Ambassadors, which officially launched in September 2021, is a patron membership group for 20 – 45-year olds, with an annual membership fee of £1,200 and approximately 100 members.
This role will continue building on the success of the scheme over the last two years, by managing and delivering an attractive and sustainable programme. It will grow this relatively new source of income for the Gallery, whilst raising our profile with younger philanthropists and arts enthusiasts, and engaging the next generation of patrons and major donors.
The Young Patrons Manager will work closely with colleagues, in particular the Patrons Manager, to ensure the joined-up and holistic management of our three tiers of patron membership. They will collaborate to build the ladder of giving and will be responsible for encouraging Young Ambassadors to move up to the George Beaumont Group and Circle, as well as to consider supporting the Gallery in additional ways, as appropriate with their interests and means.
The post-holder will work with the co-chairs and steering committee of the Young Ambassadors to develop their networks to maximise income. They will also have responsibility for a focused pool of major donor prospects, within and without of the YA membership, with the goal of securing additional income for ongoing projects as well as for NG200, the Gallery’s fundraising campaign.
