Archived: IS Support Officer


The post sits within a team of Support Officers and ensures that responsible for the rapid resolution of IT problems and queries for both NG & NGC reported to the Help Desk and to deliver new technology and system updates to an agreed schedule.

The team provides technical support to employees for the organisation’s core information systems including client devices, business software and associated connectivity; and associated project activity, including business system checks and client device lifecycle management.


The IS Support Officer is responsible for core computing services including file and print / copy / scan services, email, helpdesk, and systems development, together with the Avaya telephone system and associated voicemail and call logging applications. The team ensures security of NG/NGC data and systems by providing offsite backup and recovery facilities using Veeam.

The team supports standard desktop tools (MS Office 365), SharePoint, Teams as well as specialist packages for finance, human resources, fundraising, marketing, and digital asset management, together with comprehensive collections management and environmental monitoring systems for the public galleries.

This role must also become familiar with NG/NGC software products and take primary responsibility for supporting software products as decided by the Helpdesk Manager.
