Archived: HR Assistant

Salary: £30,653 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week – Hybrid Working (3 days per week onsite)

This is a unique and fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Assistant to join the Human Resources Team at the National Gallery. Working with and supporting the Senior HR Advisor and HR Team this role will be responsible for providing an excellent level of customer service and support in a range of HR administrative activities including payroll, contracts, recruitment, training courses, meetings, and regular correspondence.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the production of paperwork for starters, movers, and leavers; this includes drafting contracts, letters and completing forms for payroll.
  • Assisting the HR Manager with the maintenance of the HRIS to support the running of the monthly payroll.
  • Responsible for assisting on selection and recruitment administration including carrying out vetting checks and onboarding of new starters.
  • Management of the Gallery’s HR inbox; first point of contact for all queries and dealing with these in a timely manner.

Knowledge, skills, and experience needed:

  • Proven experience of working in an HR Administrative role.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a front facing role.
  • Ability to use English, written and spoken, to a high standard.
  • Experience of using an HR database system effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to understand the impact of employment law on HR activities.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of administrative tasks.
