Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum dependent on experience

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Director to lead and develop our Production Department. The postholder is a key, senior figure within the organisation and is responsible for the technical delivery of Southbank Centre’s artistic and commercial activity across the 21 acre site to the highest standards in a creative, cost effective and efficient manner. Attending both the Artistic Planning and Operational Planning meetings with members of the Executive, the Technical Director will have exceptional problem-solving skills and be ready to engage directly with all stakeholders including artists, performers, designers, commercial clients, and internal producers and programmers.
With excellent technical expertise in a least one core technical area, and technical awareness across all areas of activity; the ideal candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of leading, motivating and inspiring large teams of technical staff within a large, demanding multi-arts, performing and/or visual arts venue. You will be confident in your ability to support and develop a team that responds collaboratively, creatively and expertly to the various opportunities and challenges that emerge across our busy site. The ideal candidate will have a flexible, proactive and positive approach to work; and be able to take initiative in areas of strategic priority and large-scale project management. Displaying an understanding of all Southbank Centre activity, including artistic, educational, community and commercial, you will also recognise and be committed to the role that diversity and inclusion play in all of our activity.
