Salary: £33,000 per annum
Location: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX
Southbank Centre passionately believes the arts have the power to transform lives. This vision attracts over 25 million visits a year. Our employees are at the centre of delivering our mission, which is ‘to draw everyone possible to this loved site and captivate them through our unique arts programme and warmth of our welcome’.
We are looking for an experienced Press Manager to join our busy press office to work on a wide range of media campaigns promoting our festival programme.
You will be responsible for ensuring that Southbank Centre’s issue based festivals receive the maximum amount of publicity and profile. With significant experience and specialist knowledge of promoting issues based campaigns in a senior press office role (ideally around gender politics, youth rights, social inclusion, access to arts or mental health) you will be able to demonstrate your ability to liaise effectively at a high level, devise and manage high-level strategic campaigns and prioritise projects.
As this role will work on a range of other Southbank Centre festivals and projects, experience in and knowledge of promoting the arts would be an advantage. If no proven experience or knowledge can be demonstrated, a real enthusiasm for working on other art forms or festivals is essential.
We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate flair and develop creative campaigns including strong photo opportunities. Well-respected in your field, you will also have a wealth of media and industry contacts. A team player with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to promoting Southbank Centre’s wider activities and cores values is also essential.
