Archived: Production Manager

A production manager is required to deliver the effective production management of assigned projects with the various time and financial constraints of a major producing organisations.

Key responsibilities include:

• In collaboration with the Technical Director and others to participate in the preparation of design briefs

• To ensure that creative teams are fully aware of the various constraints of the design brief and that agreed ‘milestones’ are effectively communicated

• In collaboration with Producers, Technical Director and others to ensure that final designs delivered are within budgetary, technical and logistical limits and where relevant within the constraints of changeover, staffing, storage and transfer/tour limitations

• To liaise with Box Office as necessary on the impact of design on capacity

• To arrange design briefings and model showings as appropriate within RSC departments

• To manage the process of achieving production requirements within the budgets set

• To be the main channel of communication between creative teams, rehearsal, stage and company management and others engaged in production related activities
