Communications Officer

Location: Leicester

Salary: £25,000 (Full time, permanent contract, open to flexible working/job share)

People Dancing, the national organisation and membership body for participatory and community dance, is looking for a Communications Officer to help shape and deliver the organisation’s external communications to key stakeholders, People Dancing’s members and wider audiences, in an inclusive and accessible way.

This is an opportunity for someone with some experience of external communications to take the next step in their career with the support of the friendly and experienced team at People Dancing. The right candidate will relish working as part of a team and have the potential to show innovation and leadership, growing their experience and confidence by working in line with People Dancing’s values, to reach and engage diverse existing and new audiences and members.

A catalyst for change in and through participatory dance, our work includes a diverse programme of professional development and strategic projects that make a positive difference to dance and the arts nationally and internationally. Our networks and membership bring together 4,500 dancers, teaching artists, community practitioners and organisations world-wide, united by a passionate belief that dance is for everyone. Equality and inclusion are enshrined in our vision, purpose, objectives, and practices, and have guided our work for 35 years.
