Archived: Great Exhibition of the North – Creative Producer

£65,000 – £75,000 per annum, depending on experience Full time, fixed term (to December 2018)

NewcastleGateshead Initiative markets NewcastleGateshead on a national and international stage. Our mission is to inspire people to visit and to live, learn, work and invest here – delivering economic growth for NewcastleGateshead and the wider region.

NewcastleGateshead is to host the Great Exhibition of the North in summer 2018; an ambitious £10m programme celebrating innovation and creativity across Northern England, it will help boost tourism and investment while leaving a lasting cultural and economic legacy.

NewcastleGateshead Initiative is the lead organisation for the Great Exhibition of the North 2018. Plans include: major opening and closing events, an exhibition hub at the Great North Museum: Hancock, three walking trails around NewcastleGateshead focusing on arts, design and innovation, an entertaining and informative summer camp for families, an extensive learning programme and a business expo, as well as satellite events across the North of England.

The candidate:

We wish to recruit a senior creative producer reporting to the executive director at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, to develop and deliver key aspects of the exhibition content, specifically the outdoor opening and closing events and ambitious and innovative content for the three walking trails.

The role will also play a key role in the curation of the overall programme for the exhibition, working in close collaboration with key delivery partners, including BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Sage Gateshead and Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums as well as key partners across the North of England.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in the delivery of successful, large- scale, multi-million-pound cultural programmes. The role demands an organised and motivated individual, who will share our vision and ambition for the Great Exhibition of the North, working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
