The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain (NYCGB) – the UK’s most exciting, innovative and accessible organisation for young choral singers – is seeking a forward-thinking, creative and motivated individual, with strong experience in strategic communications and audience development within the creative sector or a transferable field, to join our senior team as Head of Communications.

Our ideal candidate will be collaborative, open and solution-focussed, able to see the bigger picture and work well across the organisation to identify priorities and ensure that plans are effectively delivered. You’ll be able to use data and insights to identify needs and opportunities whilst also dreaming up creative ideas to engage existing and new audiences. You’ll be able to draw on excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a breadth of communications, marketing and audience development knowledge and expertise.

You’ll be excited by the scope of a role within a national music organisation, which delivers everything from first-access singing workshops in schools and communities to high-profile performances at events like the BBC Proms with our flagship national choirs. You’ll be passionate about promoting access and inclusion for all young people, and it would be advantageous to have a knowledge of and interest in the breadth of music NYCGB embraces.

The successful candidate will lead the creation and implementation of targeted and compelling new Communications, Audience Development and Digital strategies, working proactively to inspire and engage audiences, develop a strong and cohesive brand, enhance the positive profile of NYCGB and support us to develop sustainable income streams. This role will work closely with our Communications and Digital Content Co-ordinator, the wider NYCGB team, external partners and contractors to ensure innovative and ambitious marketing and communications plans are successfully delivered.

The role is offered on a part-time basis and flexible working patterns can be discussed. As NYCGB develops and grows there may be the scope to increase hours in future years.
