At the National Railway Museum, striving to develop our work as a global leader in the interpretation of rail heritage and STEM, we are commencing with an exciting ‘Masterplan’ project which will ignite a new sense of curiosity for our diverse audiences and see our estate and exhibitions transformed.
To develop our ongoing interpretation strategies and support the delivery of this GBP 50m project, we are looking for a creative, innovative and proactive leader to join us at the National Railway Museum as Head of Interpretation and Design on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will oversee interpretation and exhibition programming spanning the past, present and future of railways, capturing their spectacular stories and the impact railways have made to the world we live in.
Working as part of the Senior Management Team, you will interpret information, support the design of narrative and deliver unique gallery content throughout this project and beyond, bringing our curatorial voice to life and ensuring authenticity of the stories we tell.
Joining us, you will have an excellent working knowledge of interpretation and design from previously leading on large, creative, projects where you delivered high quality exhibitions, galleries or interactive public spaces. You will also be a strong communicator and skilled influencer, able to work positively and proactively with internal stakeholders, external clients, colleagues and contractors, including creative agencies when realising briefs.
