gentle / radical

Strategic Lead

gentle/radical is an arts organisation based in Riverside, Cardiff, working with artists, community workers, healing justice practitioners and others, within and alongside the neighbourhood on our doorstep.

As we enter a new chapter in the life of gentle/radical, we’re recruiting for a Strategic Lead to join our team. We’re hoping to find the right person to help us shape and build the next stage of our development as an organisation, and also release our Artistic Lead (and Founder/Director) to focus more on creative, collaborative and curatorial work.

The larger part of gentle/radical’s focus in coming years will be cultural and creative activity within our neighbourhood of Riverside. Building the strategic vision, resources and capacities to enable this work will be the focus of this new role.

This is a six-month part-time post, with a view to establishing a permanent contract beyond this time.

We are interested in hearing from people working within the arts sector, as well as those who may have developed skills and experience within the charity, voluntary or public sector.

We strongly encourage applications from people who are under-represented in the cultural sector, to include people from global majority backgrounds, from lower socio-economic backgrounds, people who are disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, as well as those with lived experience across the intersections of these identities. We also very much welcome applications from people who are Welsh speakers or learners, as well as speakers of other languages spoken in our neighbourhood of Riverside in Cardiff.
