The Garden Museum is seeking its first Curator of Public Programmes to deliver and develop its public programmes.
The Museum was founded in 1976 and is now London’s busiest centre of ideas, research and celebration about the design, history and culture of gardens. We explore where gardens meet art and architecture, food and fashion, literature and design, health and community through exhibitions, events and visits.
The Museum is exceptionally enterprising, and reliant upon our visitors, fundraising, and the synergy of our commercial operations – our award-winning Café, our shop, venue hire – to develop our role. In November 2022 we were notified that we have been accepted by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation, and the Curator of Public Programmes holder will be involved in delivering a programme of activities related to this new status.
The Curator of Public Programmes will be responsible for further developing our programme, and will generate a turnover for the department of c.£120,000 p.a. from 70 events p.a. It will be supported by a Public Programmes Coordinator.
