This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled theatre technician and designer, with a lighting specialism, to play a key role providing first line technical support in a busy and vibrant Drama Department.

Our Theatre Technician will play an important part in delivering a high quality, safe and creative experience for our pupils across the drama area of the school. They will support the day-to-day running of facilities, maintain all equipment and technical resources in the department and take on the role and duties of technical support manager for all productions.

The right person for this role will have a broad understanding and experience of technical support to theatre in schools, including managing resources, equipment, materials, tools, consumables and technology. They will be able to set up and manage technical resources for performance, supervise pupils supporting the technical side of performances, organise and maintain stock and equipment, and take responsibility for health and safety in their environment. Training and support is available within the department for the right applicant who does not currently have experience in all areas.

Standard working hours during school term time are 40 hours per week and in school holiday periods they are 30 hours per week.  You will be expected to work flexibly including evenings and weekends on occasion.
