JOB DESCRIPTION

Main purpose of the position:

DCD will celebrate its 50th Anniversary from September 2023 – September 2024. In consultation with dancers and alumni we have a clear idea of the principles around the programme of events:

  • Inclusive – celebrating and elevating all dancers’ voices, from every genre, across the UK.
  • Honouring DCD’s legacy and those who have contributed to its impact.
  • Forward facing – DCD’s mission and vision for the next 50 years.
  • Raising more funds – to support more dancers in a meaningful way, DCD needs to raise significant additional funds.
  • Increasing awareness of DCD amongst dancers, the dance sector and beyond.
  • Belonging, community, humanity, transformation and movement are also important.

The Producer is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all creative projects to do with DCD’s 50th Anniversary year. This role is pivotal to the success of the programme of events and will work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Development to ensure the success and legacy of the anniversary.

We have a broad idea of content for the year, which will include events across the UK and a new digital offering with and for dancers (for example a Podcast) however we are looking for someone who will bring their own creative ideas and work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Development on developing activities. We have already (and will continue to do so) reached out and engaged dancers and DCD alumni in the process of curating a programme that has the dancer at the heart of the activity.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced producer/project manager to make our bold and ambitious plans a reality – to celebrate DCD’s legacy and look forward to our future contributions to the sector and beyond.
