Up to 18 months Fixed-Term Contract
Full-time (36 hrs per week)

Creative Scotland is the national development agency for Scotland’s arts, screen and creative industries. We want people to work with us to support Scotland’s cultural strength and to celebrate the success of Scotland’s creativity both at home and internationally.

Our current Director will join the Scottish Government on an 18 month secondment early in the new year to head up the Cultural Engagement team for the Culture and Historic Environment Division. This team will lead on the development of a new Cultural Strategy for Scotland.

We are looking for an experienced and confident interim Director of Arts and Engagement able to hold a breadth of perspective, to lead our dedicated and committed arts team. You will be responsible for maintaining our strategic overview and leadership of arts and engagement across a diverse portfolio, encouraging and establishing partnerships to drive forward artistic development and public awareness of the arts sector across Scotland, the UK and internationally in the context of Creative Scotland’s 10 year plan.

Our ideal candidate will be someone with arts leadership experience and a deep understanding of the arts sector who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and is able to work effectively with a range of partners across sectors. The Director of Arts and Engagement must be committed to working collaboratively internally and externally to ensure we successfully deliver our role as a funder, advocate, influencer and development agency across the arts, screen and creative industries.
