Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

Since Brent was the London Borough of Culture in 2020, the Council and our partners have made great strides in delivering the legacy outcomes: Pride, Infrastructure, Skills, and Movement.

With Brent being a Priority Place for Arts Council England and an Area of Focus for the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this is an exciting moment to join the Council and take this work to the next level; building the cultural coalition across the council, its partners and the wider community and facilitating, enabling and commissioning cultural projects to achieve the council’s objectives.

The Person

You combine an in-depth understanding of UK’s and London’s creative and culture industries across artforms, contexts and scales with a passion for the role of local government in growing and celebrating culture, creativity and creative industries.

With an appreciation of the cultural assets, history and potential of Brent, you’ll bring to the borough your exceptional communication, negotiation and partnership skills and experience in fundraising, managing grant programme and developing commercial partnerships. You’re committed to, and experienced in, working with diverse communities to co-produce and deliver complex cultural programmes and services.
