Birmingham Hippodrome is one of the finest theatre complexes in the UK, with a programme featuring the best in musical theatre, ballet, dance, opera and pantomime. Alongside resident partner organisations Birmingham Royal Ballet and DanceXchange, it is a major centre of dance activity, promoting events such as the biennial International Dance Festival Birmingham. Regular annual paid attendance of over 500,000 underlines Birmingham Hippodrome’s claim to be the UK’s busiest single theatre. The organisation is managed by Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trust Ltd., an independent charity.

This is a new role and offers a rare opportunity to support the CEO in the scheduling, management and delivery of our artistic programme; encompassing a dynamic schedule of theatrical productions, creative, community and learning programmes and off stage events. You will help in the administration of scheduling and programming activities as well as financial, contractual and licensing issues. We will look to you to optimise the use of the theatre too, identifying opportunities for additional programming as appropriate.

You must have worked in a producing or receiving theatre and ideally have been involved in contract negotiation and theatre production. If you are used to dealing with producers, artists and company management so much the better. A qualification in theatre, business or related disciplines will be advantageous too. However you must have strong PC and project management skills as well as experience of budgeting, scheduling, cost controls and post event reconciliations/ analysis. You will also be comfortable managing stakeholder communications, building strong internal and external relationships and prioritising activities to meet deadlines.
