With a multidisiplinary program including Performing Arts, Music, Books and City & Transition, Vooruit’s artistic policy aims to be trend-setting, contemporary and international. We welcome our increasingly diverse audiences with warm hospitality and a spirit of openness toward knowledge-sharing and partnerships. We like to give our protected historical building a variety of attractive purposes while treating it with the necessary care. Vooruit aims to be an enduring and surprising presence within the urban fabric. We see culture as a driving force behind the transition towards a socially fair and sustainable society.
Together with an artistic director and three other programmers you are responsible for developing a broad, qualitative, innovative and international artistic program for Vooruit. You wil mainly focus on national and European performing arts, in close collaboration with the artistic leader, in collaboration with the other working fields which are covered by your colleagues and international guest curators and inspired by our new attention for non-western artistic voices or artists.
We find you back in theaters and at festivals in Ghent and abroad, looking for competitive choices, the right partnerships, the latest artistic propositions from a promising generation, new formats or wild projects. A detailed job profile can be found on www.vooruit.be.
You have a good knowledge of the local and international performing arts sector and are specialized in theater. You have a great affinity with art and culture and themes like sustainability, super diversity and transition (social, environmental, …) are high on your agenda. You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in organizing and programming in the art fields.
We offer you an exciting job in a vibrant cultural and creative environment. A function with a great responsibility. A full-time contract of indefinite duration.
